Details: Hear from the Director of the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship as he offers insight into concerns over the USDOL’s recent Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) relating to changes to the rules governing apprenticeships. On December 14^th 2023, The US Department of Labor has issued 779 pages of proposed new rules for apprenticeship. These rules have a goal of taking back significant control from state apprenticeship organizations like ours. They seek to significantly increase federal involvement, reduce state flexibility, and would create substantial new burdens for employer participation.
